My aim being a teacher is to create in my learners a thorough understanding and self-assurance at exams and being capable to tackle unfamiliar cases. My ideology is actually based on the opinion that learning happens in an area of mutual trust in which the student is motivated to think and establish new connections for themselves. According to my experience individual tuition has a distinct benefit to students due to the option to break down the learners' personal limitations to learning in a way that lays the foundations for a thorough and lasting comprehension of the subject.
Analytic thinking
My approach depends on the child's learning style and needs. My teaching theory is built upon inspiring learners to think on their own, employing real-world examples wherever it can be. |To my mind it is important to provide scholars with a working skills and to exercise analytical skill-sets for establishing upon this knowledge. Directing a person to think analytically is at the fundamental of the things a scholar must intercept from any subject class.
We learn through examples
Mentoring children is one of the most long-lasting contributions a tutor can make, and it is a process, which I find interesting and rewarding. From my experience, I found out the importance of engaging scholars by using patterns and of delivering information at a level which implies intellect though not always knowledge, blending the known with the unknown in a combination that provides the child the disposition of probability instead of that one of impossibility that impressive and authoritative ways may lay down.
My teaching tricks
I begin with themes the learners are familiar with and move gradually towards more complex fields as their self-confidence is being developed. I apply questions and examples to analyse grasping continuously. I tend not to lecture to scholars or tell them to remember information. Neither do I perform the students' homework for them!
I mainly focus on test-style or recent paper questions in order to confirm, work at and improve the student's realising and practice. I even give a lot of importance to many of the not so evident yet necessary skill sets as essay technique and structure, logical thought, and the helpful use of numbers and graphs.
